Initial stay typically allows 90 days (either as visa validity or as The Thai Immigration stamp upon entry).
You must apply for an extension of stay at a local Immigration Office in Thailand (e.g., Immigration Division 1 in Bangkok)
To extend to one year, you generally submit at The Thai Immigration: passport, current ED visa stamp pages on a passport,
school confirmation/attendance letter, TM.7 visa-extension form, passport photos, tuition receipt and TM30 (residence notification).
90-day reporting: If you stay long-term in Thailand you must report your address to The Thai Immigration every 90 days
(either in person, or online), this is mandatory for most long-stay visa holders.

ED visa holders are not allowed to work in Thailand unless they obtain a separate work permit (issued by The Ministry of Labor).
Working without permit risks fines, deportation and visa cancellation.
Choose a recognized school and confirm they provide ED-eligible acceptance letters and will support visa extension/attendance reporting.

Prepare documents: passport, photos, bank statements, acceptance letter, tuition receipt, accommodation details.
Apply at The Thai Embassy / The Thai Consulate; get the ED visa sticker (single entry is common).
Complete TDAC (digital arrival card) before arrival if required.
Enter Thailand, register address (TM30 arranged by your landlord/hotel), keep school attendance records.
Apply for extension at local Thai Immigration before the 90-day stamp expires (bring school letters and receipts).
