How to prepare for TM.30 and the 90-Day Reporting for an Education Visa
If you are staying in Thailand on an Education Visa (Non-Immigrant ED Visa), it’s important to stay compliant with The Thai Immigration Regulations.
Two key requirements are the TM.30 Residence Notification and the 90-Day Reporting.
1. TM.30 (The Residence Notification)
What is TM.30?
TM.30 is a form used to notify The Thai Immigration Bureau of the foreign national’s place of residence. This notification is typically the responsibility
of the landlord, hotel, or property owner where the foreigner is staying.
When is TM.30 required?
- Upon your first arrival in Thailand
- When you move to a new address (even temporarily)
- When returning to your residence after travel outside Thailand
Who must submit TM.30?
- The landlord or property owner must report the foreigner’s residence to
- The Thai Immigration
- However, as the visa holder, it’s your responsibility to ensure it has been submitted
Required documents for TM.30 submission:
- Copy of your passport (main page, visa page, entry stamp)
- Copy of your departure/arrival card (TM.6)
- Copy of your rental agreement or proof of residence
- Completed TM.30 form
- Copy of the landlord’s ID card or house registration (Tabien Baan)
Where to submit:
- Local Thai Immigration Office
- Online (in some cases, if the landlord has access to the online system)
2. The 90-Day Reporting (Every 90 Days)
What is 90-Day Reporting?
If you stay in Thailand for more than 90 consecutive days on an Education Visa,
you are required to report your current address to The Thai Immigration every 90 days.
How to submit your 90-Day Report:
- In person at your local Thai Immigration Office
- By mail (must be sent 7–15 days before the due date)
- Online via The Thai Immigration Bureau’s official website (if eligible)
Required documents for 90-Day Reporting:
- Completed TM.47 form
- Copy of passport (photo page, current visa, entry stamp, and latest TM.6)
- Copy of last 90-day receipt (if applicable)
- Copy of TM.30 receipt
- Your current address in Thailand
