How to get the Thailand Visa on Arrival (2024 Update)

The Visa On Arrival allows passport holders of 19 countries to enter Thailand without needing to apply for a Tourist Visa from a Thai Embassy in their own country. This will allow you to stay in Thailand for 15 days (30-day exceptions are listed below).

These countries are as follows:

  • Bulgaria
  • Bhutan
  • China (30 days stay until February 29, 2024)
  • Cyprus
  • Ethiopia
  • Fiji
  • Georgia
  • India
  • Kazakhstan (30 days stay until February 29, 2024)
  • Malta
  • Mexico
  • Nauru
  • Mauritius
  • Papua New Guinea
  • Romania
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Taiwan
  • Uzbekistan
  • Vanuatu

If your country is not on this list, don’t fret. You will not need a Visa on Arrival if you are from a Visa exempt country. Here’s an official list of all 64 visa exempt countries (countries under the purple box).

If you meet the requirements and bring all the documents you will be able to get the Visa on Arrival.

When you land at the airport follow the signage that will take you to Visa on Arrival (note that photography and videography are strictly prohibited thus put your devices away). There will be a gate that clearly marks Visa on Arrival.
